An innovative oral motor device used by speech-pathologist and other health care professionals. These tubes provide clients with a resilient, non-food, chewable surface for developing and practicing biting and chewing skills. Made of FDA approved material, they are latex free, lead free and do not contain any PVC or phthalates.
Chewy Tubes are available in two attractive colors: the yellow tube has a smaller stem size for chewing (3/8"D) while the red tube offers a slightly wider stem size (1/2"D). Both are approx. 3" long. If a child cannot close the jaw in response to tactile stimulation, the larger size tube should be introduced first, with a transition to the narrower tube after more consistent and graded jaw closure is demonstrated. If a child demonstrates difficulty opening the jaw, start with the narrower tube and work your way up to the wider one.
Chewy Tubes should be used under close supervision, after jaw assessent, with children 10 months and up. The tubes may be cleaned by washing with mild soap and water.
